Nano Herbicide for effective Weed Control

Weeds are menace in agriculture. Since two thirds of Indian agriculture is rain-fed farming where usage of herbicide is very limited, weeds have the potential designed to jeopardize the total harvest in the delicate agro ecosystems. Herbicides available in the market are designed to control or kill the above ground part of the weed plants, None the herbicides inhibits activity of viable below ground plant parts like rhizomes or tubers, which act as a source for new weeds in the ensuing season. Soils infested with weed and weeds are likely to procure lower yields than soils where weeds are controlled. Improvements in the efficacy of herbicides through the use of the nanotechnology could result in  greater production of crops. The encapsulated nano herbicides are relevant, keeping in view the need to design and produce a nano herbicides that is protected under natural environment and acts only when there is a  spell of railfall, which truly mimics the railfed system

Irrigation Water Management

The basic dynamic of irrigation development in India are changing. In the past there has been sufficient water and land available to expand the irrigation area. There is no longer the case, with both good quality land and adequate water now constraining further development in many states. Many states are now entering a period of verticals integration, where better management of existing irrigation systems rather than construction of new schemes predominate. This transition will require new skills and expertise within Irrigation Development if they are to meet the current and upcoming challenges.
Water measurement and quantification, participatory irrigation management, conjunctive use of surface and ground water, integrated water resources management, modernization of irrigation system, demand based delivery of irrigation water, large scale promotion of water saving crop production technologies, expansion of micro irrigation into canal command areas are some of he areas identified for sustainable management of irrigation water.
Water Management Under Scare Conditions: The valuable management practices of each project during scare water conditions need to be recorded. Lessons can be learnt from each experiences for dealing water scare situations. The state of Andhara Pradesh  has managed scare water situations in Godavari and Krishna Delta successfully and also improved productivity.

Nano Technology

India being the land of farmers has decided agriculture growth primarily due to conventional methods of farming and changing climate. As the need of the hour to increase the per capita annual production of crop, a novel innovative and interdisciplinary science titled nanotechnology is applied. Nanotechnology is a science where matter is controlled on a molecular scale. It is a promising field with diverse applications in the field of medicine, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food processing and electronics. The Present review focuses on the vital role on nanotechnology in the development of agriculture sector by using tools to detect diseases in rapid manner and simultaneously increase the crop yield. Most prominent areas of nanotechnology in the field of agriculture include nanobarcodes, precision farming, pesticide delivery and remediation. Consequently nanotechnology progressing as its nascent stage demands greater efforts for its safety and commercialization.
Nanotechnology is a promising field of interdisciplinary research. it opens up a wide array of opportunity in various field like medicine, pharmaceuticals, electronics and agriculture. The potential uses and benefits of nanotechnology are enormous. These include insect pests management through the formulations of nano-materials based pesticides and insecticides, enhancement of agriculture productivity using bio conjugated nanoparticles for slow release of nutrients and water.
