Nano Technology

India being the land of farmers has decided agriculture growth primarily due to conventional methods of farming and changing climate. As the need of the hour to increase the per capita annual production of crop, a novel innovative and interdisciplinary science titled nanotechnology is applied. Nanotechnology is a science where matter is controlled on a molecular scale. It is a promising field with diverse applications in the field of medicine, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, food processing and electronics. The Present review focuses on the vital role on nanotechnology in the development of agriculture sector by using tools to detect diseases in rapid manner and simultaneously increase the crop yield. Most prominent areas of nanotechnology in the field of agriculture include nanobarcodes, precision farming, pesticide delivery and remediation. Consequently nanotechnology progressing as its nascent stage demands greater efforts for its safety and commercialization.
Nanotechnology is a promising field of interdisciplinary research. it opens up a wide array of opportunity in various field like medicine, pharmaceuticals, electronics and agriculture. The potential uses and benefits of nanotechnology are enormous. These include insect pests management through the formulations of nano-materials based pesticides and insecticides, enhancement of agriculture productivity using bio conjugated nanoparticles for slow release of nutrients and water.
